
Carol Lynley (born Carole Ann Jones born on February 13, 1942 until September 3, 2019) was an American actress, best known for her role in the films Blue Denim (1959) and The Poseidon Adventure (1972).Lynley was born in Manhattan to an Irish father and a New England mother. Before she became an actor, she started modeling as a child model. She was nominated for the Theatre World Award for "one of most promising personalities 1956-57" for her part in The Potting Shed. Lynley's film career started in 1958 when she appeared in the Disney film The Light in the Forest. Holiday for Lovers (1959), Blue Denim (1959) followed. In 1959 she was nominated for the Golden Globe Award for Most Promising Newcomer - Female in the film The Light in the Forest. The following year, she was nominated again for the Golden Globe Award as Most Promising Female Newcomer.
